1981
Four weeks cartoon strips (24 in all) were drawn in the late summer and early autumn of 1981 by way of a trial. These cartoons were never published. Daily publication of the If... strip began on Monday November 2nd. The initial conception was to have a different If... proposition everyday (for instance IF... STOCKBROKERS WERE MADE OF RUBBER), but since this proved expensive in terms of ideas and squandered the obvious opportunity for daily development of storyline and characters, this method was quietly dropped by the beginning of 1982.
